The Nobel Day

This week we’re paying attention to The Nobel Day in the library. During the Nobel Day, Nobel Prizes are handed out in Chemistry, Economic Sciences, Literature, Peace, Physics and Physiology or Medicine. The Nobel Prizes are regarded to be among the most prestigious prizes given for intellectual achievement in the world. The prizes are handed out by the Swedish King at a ceremony in Stockholm.

The Nobel Day is celebrated on December 10, Alfred Nobel‘s date of death. Nobel was a Swedish chemist, inventor, industrialist and donor who funded the Nobel Prize.


At ISGR/IHGR library you could watch movies about Nobel Prize winners in Literature and their masterpieces. These movies are made by grade 9D+9E. You could also participate in a quiz on Nobel Prize winners in Literature, do some wordsearches on famous physicists or chemists and vote for The School’s Nobel Prize in Literature.

At 12.50 on December 10, you could watch the award ceremony in the library. The School’s Nobel Prize in Literature will be announced and there will also be a mingle in the library.
